MGH Group - One World Aviation Receives Special Honorary Award as One of The Highest VAT Payers

For the second time in a row, One World Aviation Ltd. (OWAL), a concern of MGH Group - has received the honor of being one of the top 3 VAT Paying Companies in the services sector. Last year (FY 2015-16), the National Board of Revenue had awarded OWAL as one of the top VAT Paying Companies on national level.

 At an event on Sunday, December 10 - Finance Minister AMA Muhith presented a certificate and a crest to the MGH Group’s sister concern. The award was accepted by MGH Group Director of Finance Md Kamruzzaman on behalf of MGH Group Managing Director Anis Ahmed.

In an effort to encourage the firms and corporate organizations to remain compliant toward the tax and vat policies, Bangladesh National Board of Revenue had undertaken this commendable initiative. The revenue authority has decided to recognize compliant businesses with VAT Honour Cards in an effort to encourage regular payments of indirect taxes to the state coffer. Aside o from that, NBR has also declared December as the month of Compliance. Value-added tax, also known as consumption tax, is the biggest source of revenue followed by income tax and import duty in Bangladesh.

 At the national level, nine firms will be awarded with crest and certificates for giving highest amount of VAT in manufacturing, trade and services. A firm has to pay 10 percent higher VAT than the previous year to be eligible to be one of the top VAT paying firms, according to the policy. 

 In a statement made to the press, Mr. Anis Ahmed said, 'All employees of the MGH Group and its sister concerns are proud to play a role in the economic development of the nation and will continue to do so'.

 MGH Group and OWAL team members also had a warm celebration - as it's a great achievement for MGH Group Finance, Tax and Compliance Department.
