The 8th Annual Pharma SCM Summit was recently organised by UBM India in the Mumbai. More than 150+ industry leaders gathered to network, exchange ideas and latest innovations, form future alliances and shape the future of the pharma supply chain.

In this international event, MGH was represented by Mr. Kamrul Islam and Ms. Monika Panjwani on behalf of Aquamarine Distributions Ltd. (ADL) and Transmarine Logistics Ltd. (TML) respectively. 


Various opportunities and relationships were explored by the delegates of pharmaceutical and supply chain industries.



Chris Wallace, Senior Director - International Supply Chain, Sanofi Genzyme was one of the key note speakers of the event. The sessions focused on various aspects of pharma supply chain including impact of GST introduction, strategies for digitalization in Pharma SCM, warehouse automation, cold chain and inventory management.


The delegates focused their visits in broadening the scope of Pharmaceutical Supply Chain and discussing the future ventures of the pharmaceutical industry.







There were innovative networking sessions during the day like speed networking which helped interact and build contacts with industry leaders.







Topics such as Complexity in pharma cold chain logistics and increasing integration were covered on day 1. And on day 2, the speakers mostly covered topics like overview of global pharma market and adopting Internet of Things (IoT) for smoother supply chains and ensuring visibility and access to accurate data. 






Mr. Kamrul Islam (ADL) and Ms. Monika Panjwani (TML) represented their respective operations MGH at the conference.







Two panel discussions were held on way forward post implementation of GST for the pharma sector and increasing importance of maintaining data visibility and forecasting data accurately.




Other topics covered in the panel discussions were - Express Transportation Solutions for the pharma industry, Forecasting and demand planning in pharma supply chain, Efficient Manufacturing supporting agile Supply Chain, Ensuring Supply chain security identifying major threats in supply chain that impact patient safety and loss of business etc.




The major Pharmaceutical Manufacturers who participated in this event were Sanofi, BioCon , Cipla, SunPharma, Lupin, Pfizer, Teva Pharmaceuticals, Wockhardt, FDC etc. The participating companies shared their views on how the distribution networks can be aligned with market & technology and how Pharma is placing themselves for 2020 in India and Globally.
